Olivia's Eggcellent Easter Adventures

Hey, this Easter egg hunt thing is pretty fun!

I'm really getting the hang of it.

Just taking it all in.

Holy cow! Look there's more over there!

C'mon Mommy and Daddy. I'm following someone.

Oh, it's just my shadow.

That's a lot of loot!

Um, who's that freaky looking bunny?

Do you think it will mind if I grab one of its horns?

Ohhh, duckies are soft.

I'm just going to look like an angel hanging out with a ducky now.

Who says you can't go down the slide in a dress? Weeeeeee!

Olivia's first Easter basket.

She likes it!

This pink grass stuff is my favorite part!

Mommy, I think I'm going to need more to finishing sodding the dining room.

Ta-Da! I'm all dolled up now.

What do you mean this bunny isn't chocolate? Tastes delicious to me.

You guys stay there. I'm just going to take a little stroll.

I promise. I won't poke my eye out with this big stick.

Sheesh. I said, HAPPY EASTER!!!!

As usual, I'm behind in my blogging but I'll hop back for a moment to Easter weekend. Oh is that a pun you hear? Well, forgive your floppy ears and read on.

Our lovely little city started the festivities early and had an Easter Eggstravaganza at the city's sports complex. We figured what better excuse to get Olivia all dolled up in the cute spring dress my mother's childhood friend, Elaine, gave her when she was born? So the white eyelet dress went over her head and we drove across town to show her off. When we plopped her down on the grass, she ran straight for the colorful plastic Easter eggs and didn't need instructions. She promptly and enthusiastically plucked them off the ground, bringing squeals of delight from us as well as our Baby Girl. She couldn't have been more pleased with herself. The only assistance she needed was figuring out how to carry all 10 she was allowed. Fortunately, Mommy and Daddy brought along her basket and she got the hang of it quite quickly.

She also got to pet a real baby goat and a duck which brought huge smiles. It was the fake bunny that really got her. She did not have an instant connection to the Easter Bunny much to our chagrin.

Easter morning, Olivia got her first Easter basket filled with goodies from books to magic markers. A holiday balloon was her favorite and it is still floating around the living room. But it was the fake grass stuffing her basket that was really a hit. She enjoyed covering the floor with it from the living room to the staircase. Easter Day was relatively quiet from years past with just Nana, Grampy and Uncle Rich joining us for dinner. We couldn't resist dressing up Olivia in what was supposed to be her birthday dress but her party day was just too chilly. I'm glad we didn't miss a chance to get her in this dress. She looked liked a little angel.

All and all, Easter was eggcellent this year, especially fun having a toddler running around.
